Firm Level Exclusions (will be applied to all clients)

- Click on the gear icon in the top right of the page
- Click "Security Types"

- Check the box next to the security type or the security itself that you wish to exclude

*Note: All checked boxes will be excluded in the next created billing cycle on the fees page. We suggest emailing support@billfin.com if excluding at the firm level so they can refresh your billing cycle to apply these exclusions.

Client Level Exclusions (will overwrite the firm level)

- Go to the Clients page

- Hover over the pencil next to the client and click on "Edit Client"

A slideout window will appear

-  Scroll to the bottom and choose YES to “Do You Want To Exclude Specific Assets From Billing?

- Click on the blue “Add An Exclusion” that appears next to the now highlighted YES.

*note: after exclusions have been added, the blue text will change to "Manage Exclusions"

another slideout window will appear
- You can now exclude securities individually or by types from the client’s billable assets by selecting the type or security from the left table and clicking the ">" button to move it to the right side to be excluded.

*Note: If you exclude the whole Security Type, ALL securities associated with that asset class will be excluded from billing RATHER than just the securities you have entered into BillFin under that asset class. We advise selecting specific securities unless you are sure you never want to bill on an asset class (such as bonds or mutual funds) for the client.

- After securities have been excluded, save at the bottom

- Choose when to apply these changes
