Setting up a New Family

In BillFin, a "Client" refers to an invoice or household with one or more accounts that are billed in a single invoice.


A "Family" signifies a group of clients that can enjoy asset aggregation across each client (member) within the family, while still receiving individual invoices per client (member) that display client-specific data. This setup is advantageous for clients aiming to utilize total asset aggregation that each account can benefit from in a tiered fee schedule while separating client-specific invoices for each client within the family.

An example "Family" can consist of parents and adult children who seek separate invoices but still wish to benefit from total aggregation of billable assets.


To Setup a New Family:

- Go to the Clients page


- Hover over the pencil next to the client

- Click "Add to Family"

A slideout window will open

- Enter a New Family Name in the box

-You can add additional clients one at a time by entering their name in the "Add More Clients to Family" box, selecting the desired client, and clicking "Add"


- Click Save


- Save for the Current  or Next Cycle
